We used these for finding the studs when installing baseboards - they helped us hit the stud each time to make sure the baseboards were on securely. I wouldn’t recommend for larger tasks, like hanging anything heavy, as they don’t help find the edges of the stud. They only work at finding the centre of stud (at least for wooden studs, as they find where the drywall screw / nail is).

helps you locate the stud, and joists on hardwod. But the design makes it hard to find AND mark the exact magnetic spot. As you know, studs are only 1.5 inch wide. The magnetism radius is at least 1 inch. I'd rather have a bag of magnets, to do a layout. Then, come in with a basic stud finder to get the edges.

This is so easy and really works great. I can’t believe I used electronic stud finders for years with their glitchy accuracy. This just finds the heads of the screws or nails in your Sheetrock and accurately indicates where the studs are. Flawless. So easy. Plus just let it hang above or below where you want to drive your screw or hammer your nail and there is no need to mark the stud on 5he wall with pencil or tape. So retro. So easy so simple.

En plus il est beaucoup moins cher ( 2x moins cher ) que l'aimant rond de base et a exactement la même fonction !
